Brits Book Last Minute Hols!

Brits Book Last Minute Hols!

Recent research shows that Brits are putting off booking their holidays until the very last minute. Whether they are after golf villa holidays or just a normal holiday to the sunny Algarve, this research has shown that Brits would rather wait until they find a cheap holiday, maybe something like a cancellation or just a last minute deal.

Research carried out by Sainsbury’s Credit Cards shows that some 1.28 million British holiday makers waited until two weeks before to book their holidays. Further research has showed that half of them, 818,000, only agreed holiday deals with their travel agent to go on holiday a week before! One week before; imagine being a child and being told that you aren’t going away to a nice sunny part of the world in the summer to be let down like that and then when your parents have booked the hotel and flights one week before the holiday, imagine how overjoyed you would be! Anyway, that’s if you enjoy going on a golfing holiday with your parents when you are that age.

Sainsbury’s Head of Credit Cards has said that they can be a useful way to spread the cost of the holiday and he also added, “However, if you don’t think you will be able to clear this within a month, you should consider taking out a new credit card that offers an attractive interest-free period on purchases.” Basically don’t spend what you can’t afford to pay back. Pretty much stating the obvious there I think.

On a golfing note Tiger Woods won’t be taking his children away on any golfing holidays after the Ryder Cup win or lose. Not that he can’t afford to take them away, but his wife will probably have a thing or two to say about it him being in a different country and having control of the children, and after his recent shenanigans who can blame her!
