Who Will Win The Ryder Cup In 2010?

The majority of the Western world will be split in a few weeks over the outcome of the Ryder Cup. The United States take on Europe in one of the most prestigious golfing tournaments in the world.

The Ryder cup has been hosted over 77 years with 34 competitions held over this time period. This year is set to be as controversial as ever, with Tiger Woods, who has had a rather torrid time over the last few years, being touted not to be selected for this year’s US Ryder cup team. However Tiger has been selected at the 11th hour and drafted into the squad to face a very strong, European squad highly tipped to beat the US team this year. Experts have said that the European team are at least on a par with the US team in the top ranks and much stronger in the middle as well as down near the bottom of the ranks; but as they say, there’s never any pressure on the underdog.

While the US may be coming into this feeling under no pressure with the team winning the last tournament in 2008, over the last 10 tournaments the US have only won three of them. Which would, put the EU team out in front. Another factor that could work well for the US or even prove to be their downfall is the torrid time that Tiger Woods has had recently. He could come out in Wales at Celtic Manor on the 1st of October and have a blinding tournament; yet again he could come out and have an absolute shocker! The only way we’ll find out is of course by watching the tournament!

For those of you that are sat in your golf villa on your golfing holiday and are playing a few rounds a day while waiting for the tournament to start may have your own opinions on who will win, but as I’m sure most of you do, the US team really do need to prove themselves and should really let their golf do the talking whilst out on the course. Let the games begin!
